The obverse features the famous Walking Liberty, created in 1916 by engraver Augustus Saint–Gaudens, one of the greatest designers of that era. The design was slightly modified by
sculptor Adolph Weinman that was displayed on the Walking Liberty half dollar, minted from 1916 to 1947.
The reverse shows the famous bald eagle clutching both arrows and olive branch surrounded by the words “United States of America” and the weight and purity.
