Meticulously rendered, the
Australian Gold Kangaroo
is produced by the Perth Mint which is wholly owned by the government of Western Australia.
Introduced in 1986 as a .999 pure gold bullion coin, the portraits of kangaroos which appear on the obverse side have new unique designs every year.
Each coin comes in a hard plastic case shipped from the Perth Mint and shrink wrapped twenty coins together.
The diameter is 32.1 millimeters with a thickness of 2.8 millimeters.
The Perth Mint also produces two ounce, ten ounce, and one kilogram gold coins. These larger sizes are also produced in silver and platinum versions.
